Tiger Woods is not a name that needs any introduction. He is the greatest athlete in the world, but that’s not why he is famous these days, is he? The sex scandal involving numerous voluptuous babes, his subsequent rehabilitation, the divorce from Elin Nordegren, and the whopping alimony he settled on her has grabbed the attention of the masses more than the number of trophies he may have won during his career.
There are now rumors to the effect that Tiger Woods has bid farewell to his residence in Orlando and found a bachelor pad for himself in New York. This news has been rubbished as well as confirmed several times over. Some claim to have seen him in person in downtown New York in the West Village area moving boxes and his golf clubs into the new apartment. In fact a pretty brunette also spoke to the Daily News alleging that Woods stopped to make small chat with her and play with the dog she was walking. The building he was moving into has been identified as the Printing House building on Hudson Street.
However, there are various reports that are quick to dismiss the claim that Tiger Woods is moving to New York leaving behind his house in Central Florida. A report published in the New York Post claims that Woods is not really fond of the city and he wouldn’t want to move into New York of all places, especially at a time when he’s seeking privacy. In fact, whenever when he was in New York for a tournament, he’d prefer to stay on his yacht, The Privacy rather than come into the city.
Another reason why it is hard to believe that Tiger Woods may have moved into New York is that the apartment he seems to have allegedly bought is not posh enough for an athlete of his caliber. Knowledgeable real estate sources are of the opinion that this could well be a stunt orchestrated by the landlord to up the value of his building.
Besides, one does wonder whether Woods, in the situation that he is currently, has enough money to maintain two houses in two different cities. Although he did take out a mortgage recently for $54.5 million, that money is to go towards building a swanky home in Florida’ Jupiter Island. He’s agreed to pay back the money by January 2016.
So, as of now as things stand, there’s some ambiguity on whether Tiger Woods has, in fact, moved to New York. Some claim he has, some claim he never will, and some claim the existence of Tiger Woods look-alike having moved into the Printing House apartment. Only time will be able to sift fact from fiction.
