The “Five-Star FLEECING” by Maura Stone has been selected the WINNER of the 2011 Indie Excellence Award in the category of comedy.

The Indie Excellence Awards are reserved for the “best of the best” in books published in various genres. The criteria for recognition are stringent and include overall excellence in presentation. This award celebrates the highest achievements in independent press and self-publishing, a sector of the industry that has grown exponentially in recent years.

Winners and finalists were announced on Sunday, May 15. For a complete list of the honorees visit: http://www.indieexcellence.com/indie-results-2011.htm.

Five-Star FLEECING a book reviewed last May on Manhattan style is an adult-themed comedy concerning corporate theft through the eyes of Linda Lane, a naïve yet ambitious New Yorker. A fast paced and satisfying romp in the hospitality industry, Five-Star FLEECING mixes it all up- distortions in time and space, hotel guests, celebrities, paparazzi, duplicity, crazed employees, karma-and spins almost out of control.

Maura Stone’s first novel, “Five-Star FLEECING” astounded friends and critics alike, considering her background as a commercial banker. Despite this handicap, Five- Star received rave reviews prompted by a very scarring stint in one of the top luxury
hotels in NYC.
