The Crystal Winter is back to wow and woo audiences (especially children) once again after its spectacular success last year. This time it is bigger and better with more exhibits, activities, workshops and demonstrations to stimulate the curious minds of children. The venue remains the same – The New York Hall of Science where children get to study about the science behind the symmetry of crystals.
The New York Hall of Science has always believed that learning need not be as mundane and boring as it is made in day to day life. In fact a child will learn best when he is having fun, when he is allowed to explore the subject at his own pace. Learning by doing is the encouraged at The New York Hall of Science, making it the perfect choice for parents to bring their children on weekends and holidays.
The Hall of Science is dedicated completely to well, science and technology, of course, and there are over 400 hands-on exhibits which focus on physics, chemistry, and biology. The hall features 15 themes that are simply bound to grab the attention of kids of all ages. The Rocket Park has a climb in capsule and a simulator that reproduces the feel of being in a rocket; the Science Playground is especially popular in the summer months as it houses giant slides and a water play area; and The World of Microbes has the largest interactive microbiology exhibition in the whole of United States.
Therefore, when it comes to exploring the world of ice and crystal, you can’t think of a better venue than The New York Hall of Science. As you step into the Hall you come face to face with an interactive Crystal Winter Village. In this village a miniature Crystal Winter train chugs through a beautiful winter landscape. A giant snow globe stands in the middle of this Crystal Winter village and it’s the perfect spot for you to snap some pictures of your tiny tots and his friends. The entire winter décor is dazzling and it immediately arrests the imagination of all the children who visit the Hall of Science.
Children learn about how and why ice crystals are formed in the Crystal Winter demonstration. They can also experience life in the Arctic region as a motion simulator takes them on a tour around glaciers and through the magnificent phenomenon known as the Northern lights. The younger children will thoroughly enjoy the puppet show ‘Hey Snow, Where do you Go?’ as they join Susie, the snowflake on her journey from the skies down to earth and her eventual friendship with a lonely tree. Finally a unique craft workshop is organized after every show where children can make souvenirs for themselves, such as snowflakes, puppets of penguins, polar bears, and various other ornaments.
So, if your child is in a gregarious mood, you know where you can take him this winter. The Crystal Winter is bound to be as much entertaining as it is educative.
