Samantha Ronson (photo by ArtChick.biz) just couldn’t find her groove at the Brazilian Sunflowers event in Southampton, belting out a loud mix of techno and mash ups before neighbors called in the cops. ACE founder Henry Buhl treated 300 guests to dinner and a mellow live performance of Brazilian Bossa Nova by vocalist Bebel Gilberto at his estate Saturday.
Then Ronson hit the ones and twos and tore up the turntables. Her set simply didn’t match the mood. The crowd had been primed with the sweet sexy sound Brazilian Bosa Nova. Then Ronson came on and started jamming techno, completely inappropriate for the crowd .
It was a party benefiting the Association of Community Employment Programs for the Homeless . Ronson played her fill of 80s music and lots of Michael Jackson but the crowd was more a disco old schools and not her usually following of mash up types and hipsters .In the end Ronson was shooed away and Cops allowed the event to continue.
