Do you have what it takes to compete? A free after party will ensue in the front lounge with ,chocolate, chocolate and more chocolate!
Masterminded by Theo Peck and Nick Suarez. Mr. Peck and Mr. Suarez who discovered a kindred spirit in the other, when their cooking rivalry evolved into friendship.Their first joint venture, the First Annual Brooklyn Beer Experiment, was held on June 7 at the Bell House, a music club in the Gowanus area. Any dish that includes beer was welcome. A contest for home brewers was held simultaneously. For The Brooklyn Chocolate Experiment the new partners promise better organization, even bigger prizes, more ambitious cooking. “We want to take it to the next level,” Mr. Suarez said. The success of this event led to the The Brooklyn Chocolate Experiment at the same location a competition of chocolate-based dishes.
Theo and Nick are joined by the team of Amanda Hesser and Merrill Stubbs of Food52 . Food52 is a place where cooks of all kinds gather to share their practical and inventive recipes. Each week, food52 holds recipe contests. Amanda and Merrill narrow the submissions down to two finalists, the community votes, and the winners go into a cookbook, which will be published by HarperStudio in late 2010.
