Watch the JETS in ultra cool hip viewing style. With towering 20′ ceilings emphasize the sleek narrow bar & couch areas, illuminated by hovering space age lighting, allows patrons in the private mezzanine party room and the bar below to reflect on this establishment’s namesake as well as their normal perception of the proverbial “Happy Hour” as drink prices here define reasonable some would say “cheap”. The SKINnY bar & lounge has a very ffriendly and unpretentious bar staff and that make this the destination night spot for locals , people watchers and party goers alike.
Yes this neighborhood spot is just as its name suggests and comes from the fact that it’s built like a railroad apartment, with a mezzanine just big enough for a pool table and a back hall just long enough for a bar. No surprise then that slender hip twenty somethings in ironic t-shirts slouch in banquettes near the front. During the day, as the sun streams in to the wooden bar, neighborhood artists watch sports on two mounted TVs or scope colleagues’ paintings hanging on the red walls. At night djs take over and spin remixed rock and new wave . Wrought-iron stairs lead to a tiny fuchsia mezzanine where shooting pool is an art form in itself; kind of like shooting pool in an elevator . Well drinks run a little light, but cheap domestic beers and snappy service more than make up for it.
