This Thursday, February 4, 7pm A Talk with Exit Art’s Founder. Starting in 1982 with “Illegal America,” which used mimeographs, Xeroxes and other radical means to present multimedia artwork, Exit Art was founded by Papo Colo and Jeanette Ingberman now the creative directors . The duo has mounted more than 100 groundbreaking presentations of art, theater, film and video. Papo Colo and Jeanette Ingberman will discuss some of the most iconic shows of this historic, independent New York City cultural space.
School of Visual Arts also known as SVA, in New York City is an established leader and innovator in art education. From its inception in 1947, the faculty has been comprised of professionals working in the arts and art-related fields. SVA provides a hands on environment that nurtures creativity, inventiveness and experimentation. Students are enabled to develop a strong sense of their own artistic identity and given a clear direction of purpose.
Presented by the BFA Fine Arts Department as part of the Art in the First Person lecture series at 209 East 23 Street, 3rd-floor amphitheater . Free and open to the public.
