Socialite Tinsley Mortimer stars in the upcoming show High Society. High Society follows Tinsley and her friends as they give an inside look behind New York’s most exclusive high life affairs and events. A native of Richmond, Virginia, Mortimer is known as one of most visible and photographed socialites in New York. Her recent divorce sets the theme for the show. Tinsleyis a handbag designer and has even made guest appearances on the hit Gossip Girl.
Other starts of the show are Jules Kirby, who is High Society’s resident bee-yotch and is unhappy at the way the editors of her new show have chosen to portray her. In Wednesday’s series premiere, Jules berates a hotel employee, and belittles minorities with such demeaning remarks as my friends do tend not to be homosexuals, fat or Jewish people . She goes to say that she uses the N word from time to time and it really should be okay to say.
Ms. Kirby fought back on her facebook page saying ,”I am sorry if you were offended. The show is scripted and we are given lines and characters. My grandmother is married to a Jew and everything was cut and pasted to make me look like I was a stupid bitch I regret that they do not do a better job of saying it is a docu-soap, not a reality show,”
High Society premiered Wednesday, March 10th at 9:30pm on The CW or WPIX .
