Are you a fan of Tim Burton? If yes, mark this date in your address book – February 26 – and get ready to have the time of your life at the event “Wonderland: A Tim Burton Ball Starring Abney Park.” This dance event is being organized just a week before the release of Tim Burton’s sequel to Alice in Wonderland and you are sure to run into several of his creations a this ball…something that is going to send Tim Burton fans into throes of ecstasy.
There are two shows on February 26. The first is the Abney Park show that will begin at 8 pm and the second is the Tim Burton Ball that will begin at 10 pm. This ball will also include performances by Abney Park throughout the night. The special attraction of this ball is the swing dancing and lessons that will be arranged for all the guests. Both the shows are open to people of all ages. If you want to attend both the shows you can buy tickets for $40.00. For those that are under 21 years of age, you will have to shell out an additional $10. If, for some reason, you wish to attend only one of the shows, the Abney Park show will cost you $20.00 ($30 under 21) and the tickets for the ball are priced at $30.00 ($40 under 21). Makes better sense to attend both the shows, doesn’t it?
You are free to choose your attire and we don’t have to tell you that especially recommended attire would be any of Tim Burton’s characters. There’s plenty for you to pick from, but make sure that whatever you choose, it’s comfortable enough to get you through the dance instruction. Swing Goth is a new and fun approach to partner dancing and it’s especially enjoyable since it can be done by one and all. Dance instruction will start at 10:15pm and go on for about an hour or so.
In addition to this, there is yet another special offer for people who attend one or both the events. You are most welcome to attend the MoMA’s Tim Burton exhibit on February 27th at a discounted rate of $17.00, and you won’t even have to stand in line. Since the tickets are extremely limited, you need to be proactive and get yours as soon as possible.
