Nintendo is taking some of America’s biggest video games out of the living room and into New Jersey’s Liberty State Park. On July 16, New York City residents will have a remarkable opportunity to get up and get playing as Nintendo kicks off the first-ever nationwide Wii Games: Summer 2010 competition. Experience the trill of Wii outdoors in real time with the picturesque Manhattan skyline in the background.
Throughout the entire summer, individuals and teams from across the nation ,coast to coast are invited to join together, compete for top scores and enjoy getting active with Nintendo’s groundbreaking motion-control games. At the launch event, Nintendo fans in the New York metro area will enjoy a special appearance by Olympic gold medalist Shawn Johnson and vie for a chance to win a trip to the Wii Games national championship and compete in Los Angeles this September.
The Wii Games Summer 2010 competition will focus on the following activities: Basketball and bowling in Wii Sports Resort; Hula Hoop challenge from Wii Fit Plus; New Super Mario Bros. Wii; Mario Kart Wii
