In an new twist on the iconic Mister Softee trucks Joey Wolffer and her partner Trish Carroll have created the ultimate couture shopping experience and are bringing couture to the Hamptons this summer in their converted potato chip delivery truck, which is wrapped in a leopard print and is outfitted to resemble an upscale walk-in closet, with sorta of an ’80s vibe of lipstick red lacquered walls, built-in zebrawood drawers , display cases, and brass fixtures.
The mobile couture truck even has its own jingle, so sun-drenched shoppers can run for their fix as the hear La Smooch’s signature roar. Locksley, a Brooklyn band, created a song just for this treasure trove on wheels. Only in the Hamptons can you now sun, surf and shop from your beach chair.
The Chevy truck or should I say shopping experience is called La Smooch and is fully stocked with a multitude of designer accessories from around the world .There are Thierry Lasry sunglasses from Paris, Lucy Hutchings jewelry from London and Dassios gillets bags and belts from Greece. Pieces range from $50 to $1,200.
