Dont miss the final days ,Le Salon d’Art played proud host to Elke Reva Sudin’s popular “Hipsters and Hassids” painting series for a limited engagement. Please join us for the opening May 27th, 2010 free and open to the public.
“Hipsters and Hassids” celebrates two diverse cultural groups who maintain an uneasy yet cozy coexistence in the creatively charged neighborhood of Williamsburg, Brooklyn.
Sudin paints portraits and urban landscapes to reflect the similarities these groups have despite their conflicting values and lifestyles. Sudin is an observant Jew and young artist who was rigorously schooled in traditional illustration techniques and creates paintings that are influenced by emerging trends in graphic novels, graffiti and the street art of Brooklyn.
