While traveling, you either have the choice of losing out on the personal touch and intimacy by staying in a hotel, or losing out on the extra comfort and convenience by staying in a bed-and-breakfast. What if you got both, the convenience and the cozy, home-like intimacy? And that too at a reasonable ‘bed and breakfast’ rate! Nope, that’s not a distant dream – it’s actually a reality at one of the most tempting lodging options in NYC – The Inn on 23rd. As the name suggests, it’s on 23rd street, in the famous Chelsea district.
This place is the realization of a single family’s dream that, by their own admission, was 20 years in the making. They spent a lot of time enhancing their vision, putting the pieces together and collecting interesting curios and antiques. The result is, according to most visitors, out of this world. The venue is a restored, five-storey nineteenth century townhouse, with fourteen cozy guest-rooms and a richly-stocked, airy library which doubles up as a breakfast room. Each guest room has a unique theme, so you may be spending your night in an Asian style Bamboo room, a luxurious Victorian room or perhaps a retro 1940s room.
While the decor and furniture of each room may be different, one thing is common – unbeatable comfort. Each room has air-conditioning, king or queen-sized pillow-top mattresses, and a newly installed modern bathroom. The mattresses, sheets and rugs in every room are rich and uplifting in their colors and spotlessly clean at all times. Satellite TV, a free Wi-Fi connection, a two-line phone, a data port and business DSL are features in every room.
Several guests have reported that the nights are unusually peaceful out here that lulls you into peaceful, undisturbed sleep! However, there is a very good incentive that wakes you up and puts you in the brightly lit, inviting library – a delicious and wholesome breakfast. Once you’ve packed in the most important meal of the day, feel free to pick up a book and lounge about or appreciate the art and the antiques at a leisurely pace. It’s so cozy and warm here that you just don’t want to step out at all.
This rather unique bed-and-breakfast is not overly expensive either. Generally, the rates start from about $200 for a night and breakfast and go up to anywhere between $400-500, depending upon your specific needs, the time of the year and the size of your party. This is a remarkable deal for all that you are assured. However, for specific pricing information, please contact the hosts.
