The Lowell is undoubtedly the first and probably the last name when it comes to elegance and sophistication. This fabulous boutique property pampers its patrons with a combination of serenity and luxury using to its benefit the advantageous location on a quiet street off Madison Avenue. Lined with trees on either side, this street sees the who’s who of Manhattan’s fashionable Upper East Side making their way to The Lowell.
This hotel has a total of 72 rooms, of which 47 are luxury suites and 25 are deluxe rooms. A great deal of thought has gone into the designing of these rooms, as no two rooms are exactly alike. Suites are tastefully decorated catering to every possible whim and convenience of the guests. Almost all the suites have fully functional kitchens, some have real wood burning fireplaces, and some come with terraces for you to lounge in.
The Penthouse Suite at The Lowell’s has recently received a facelift from one of the most influential names in interior designing, Michael S. Smith. His vision for the 2,200 square feet room was a seamless fusion of opposites – antique with new, and modern with traditional. It’s no wonder that it is the most coveted suites at The Lowell.
When you finally find the inclination to stroll out of your rooms, make your way to the Pembroke Room to enjoy a hearty breakfast, a lazy brunch, a sedentary afternoon tea or a merry cocktail. In fact, the afternoon tea at the Pembroke is something of a sacred ritual as you get to savor traditional scones, fresh berries and cream, finger sandwiches, and petit fours along with the finest tea served in hand-painted Washington Pickard China.
In the mood for a substantial meal? The Post House located in the lobby is the place to be. You won’t have to ask for directions. Just follow the aroma of the food and you will find yourself in one of the finest steak houses in America. New York Times calls it the “Paragon of a New York Steakhouse”, and Esquire regards it as “One of 100 best new restaurants in America”. However, the best credentials come from your sigh of content as you dig into the steaks and chops served here. You are forgiven for ignoring manners gorging yourself silly.
Enjoy your winter weekends at The Lowell as they bring you an exclusive offer that ends on December 31. When you reserve a two night’s stay on Friday and Saturday, you get Sunday’s stay at a 50% discount. Another offer that you can’t afford to miss out is the $100 credit you receive on food and drinks when you reserve any suite at the Lowell. New Year’s is definitely going to be a pleasant one this year!
