The Wales Hotel is located in the Upper East Side of the New York City. It is a centrally located hotel and Central Park is within walking distance of this beautiful boutique hotel. The Wales Hotel is also close to the ‘Museum Mile.’ So, in case you feel like touring the various museums in the city, you don’t have very far to go.
The hotel has 87 extremely comfortable guest rooms and suites spread over ten floors. One may not believe that such a modest hotel could provide such luxurious accommodation, but it’s true. Every care has been taken to ensure that the guests are pampered. All rooms have high ceilings with crown molding, antique-style furniture, brass lamps and chandeliers, and wooden-slat blinds. Room amenities include down comforters with white cotton covers, Belgian linens, down pillows, Frette Italian terry-cloth bathrobes, CD player, radio, and television with VCRs.
One of the highlights of the Wales Hotel is the Rooftop Terrace that has space enough to accommodate more than 80 people. This is indeed a magical place to be in. You get stunning views of the Upper East Side including Madison Ave, the Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis Reservoir, and Central Park. Take your place at one of the tables with a sunshade, enjoy the beauty of potted plants and flowers around you and have a hearty meal day or night.
On the second floor of the hotel is the spacious Pied Piper Room, which has interesting paintings and drawings that depict Victorian childhood fables. The room is furnished with deep couches; rose-brocade chairs; green-marble-topped tables; Oriental rugs, and brass light fixtures. Fresh flowers and lace blinds dressing further add to the beauty of this room. Here, complimentary Continental breakfast is served every day, and throughout the day, you can have complimentary espresso from the machine.
Yet another dinner option at the Wales Hotel is Sarabeth’s. It serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily and there’s a special Sunday brunch. Lunch choices include sandwiches, salads, burgers, and specialties like penne with goat cheese, chicken potpie, and grilled tuna. For dinner you can order delicacies such as crab cake, smoked-salmon potato pancake, pistachio-coated halibut, steak, lamb, and grilled duck breast, grilled white asparagus with figs. Drooling already?
The Wales is the perfect choice when you are looking for comfortable stay without having to break your bank. You will not be disappointed for booking rooms here.
