Its 26th anniversary of Brazilian Day in New York, One of the largest street festivals in Manhattan, it will take place on two different stages. The Brazilian Day festival is not simply a party celebration; it has become an opportunity to reach out for the Brazilian community in the United States. On that day, Brazilians join each other from different parts of the world, many coming from Brazil just to attend the festival, show their pride, advertise their culture, and live their nostalgic and anonymous feeling of being an immigrant away from home.
On the main stage, located at 43rd St. and 6th Ave., will host the most popular Brazilian country duo, Zeze Di Camargo & Luciano, and the King Afro-Brazilian World Music Carlinhos Brown, internationally acclaimed and hosted by Luciano Huck.
A Brazilian Band, “Dendê & Hãhãhães” , picked through a raffle at the Parangole’s show that took place in Newark, on August 7, will open this huge Festival, followed by the most famous Brazilian DJ in Brazil, presentation, DJ Marlboro, and lots of fun with the “ Caldeirão” folks.
The GOYA stage, on 46th St. and Madison Ave.,will host several DJ’s including Ray Briones, Rodrigo Vieira, Marcos Carnaval and guests whose sound blends Brazilian traditional house music and urban electronic and other surprises such as local bands, Brazilian drums and samba dancers.
