The 2009 NYC Horror Film Festival The 2009 NYC Horror Film Festival kicked off on November 18th, 2009, with the open to the public opening night party at a new venue, BLVD, located at 199 Bowery, in New York City. Doors open at 8:00 pm, with the festivities to kick off at 9:00 pm. (Only $10 Cover!!)

This years festival featured live performances by Hayley Griffiths (Riverdance) Witches in Bikinis, (creepy rock & roll) M-16 (Heavy Metal) and many more! .

Established by Filmmaker Michael J. Hein, CEO of Moodude Films . The NYCHFF is a week long event that takes place each October at venues throughout New York City. This years the festival was pushed back to November .The NYCHFF has grown to be a world recognized event, with industry, filmmakers, and press attention from around the globe .

Moodude Films is considered one of the leading proponents of independent film in New York City and highly respected in genre films. Michael has done it all, from Special Effects Make-up Artist to Screenwriter, and now Director & Producer.

This is America’s largest and most recognized genre film festival focusing solely on Horror and Science Fiction. Each year the NYCHFF celebrates both the horror classics we grew up with and the new horror films & filmmakers who created them. the NYCHFF fills the city with special screenings, parties, celebrity guests and free giveaways. The New York City Horror Film Festival is the Halloween time event not to be missed.

The festival is competitive, screening approximately 50-60 films each year.
