Who doesn’t enjoy watching the finest theatrical talent in America on Broadway? If you were drawing up a list of things worth doing in New York or of experiences without which your trip to the Big Apple would be an absolute waste, going to Broadway and watching an exhilarating show on the stage would be one of them. Right among the top ones, in fact.

If you really love Broadway and can’t get enough of it, block all the Thursdays of this month and the first two Thursdays of next month. Have a date with yourself or a special friend or your chum from school around lunch time, more specifically from 12.30 to 1.30 pm. Make excuses, ask your colleague to cover for you, sneak out of the office…do what it takes, but make sure you reach Bryant Park before 12.30, with a packed lunch and high spirits.

Why? Because the Broadway is coming to Bryant Park! Oh well, we mean, it’s already arrived with the first show that took place last week on July 8. You couldn’t imagine a better way to spend your lunch hour! All your favorite stars from the current Broadway and Off-Broadway shows, ranging from Wicked to  Avenue Q, American Idiot to The Lion King will be there performing popular musical numbers….and you don’t have to pay a dime to watch them. It’s FREE!

And, there’s more! There are sponsor contests as well that you can participate in. You stand the chance of winning a free trip to London and a whole year’s worth of tickets to Broadway shows. No, no, no, don’t let your imagination run away with you. What that means is you get a pair of tickets once a month for a year. Yeah, it’s not the same as getting tickets every day, but still, it does make you want to win the contest really badly!

Be sure you reach ahead of time for these shows. There are a lot of chairs and tables throughout the park but you want to grab the best seats, don’t you? And just as a precaution carry a small blanket with you to sit in the grass, just in case you find all the seats taken. The show is going to be awesome and no matter where you are sitting, you are going to enjoy yourself a lot!
