Hunting for a hip and happening night club to soak in some after hours fun and pleasure? How about a place where you get to spot some celebrity faces? If you don’t mind the long wait in an even longer queue, we believe, Marquee Night Club in the West Chelsea district could be just the place for you.
Marquee is a self proclaimed ultra-lounge, and it is massive, voluminous, expansive…think of all the words that describe “huge” and you are free to use them here. This place is classy and yet sleek, sexy and yet refined. From the over-the-top décor, to enthusiastic DJs keeping the dance floor alive, to plainclothes models boogying to the tunes and serving specialty cocktails…Marquee offers a lot more to its patrons than they could ever imagine.
The layout of the place is evocative, to say the least. Some may even consider it to be a work of art. As you take in the vaulted ceilings, the “wishbone” staircase leading up to the VIP area upstairs, the pendant fixtures, and the dance floor flanked by comfortable banquettes… you know that even the word “exclusive” barely begins to describe Marquee.
The design of the place is centered on a modest dance floor and there is a dramatic chandelier that catches your attention immediately. Made of glass bead, this chandelier lights up the entire room and it changes color with the disco lights. At the back, a staircase leads you into a glassed-in, second-floor lounge that overlooks the vaulted main room. Together, Marquee’s bi-level layout provides you three distinct rooms, each with its own ambiance, plush VIP banquettes, and expansive bar. One of the rooms even has red rippled walls that look absolutely stunning.
Getting into Marque can be quite a bit of trouble. If you are considered unworthy of entrance, the doorman and security guards reserve the right to evict you from the line. Even if you are deemed worthy, there is still a long wait ahead of you. However, for those that are well connected and beautiful, a free pass is ensured!
Oh, didn’t we say something about celebrities to be spotted here? Well, it’s not uncommon for high profile celebrities and catwalk divas to frequent Marquee. Some of the people that have been spotted here are Mariah Carey, Khloe Kardashian, Akon, Molly Sims, Chace Crawford, Heidi Klum, Christina Aguilera, Fergie, Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan, Ashlee Simpson, Uma Thurman, Eva Longoria & Tony Parker…wow, that is some lineup! If nothing else drags you to the Marquee, this should!
