Recent reports have suggested the SEC was watching porn instead of financial industry during the Global Financial melt down. It seems Global financial crisis goes on while SEC watched Porn . It seems senior staffers at the SEC were surfing Internet pornography often as much as eight hours per day, in one case when they were supposed to be policing the financial industry.
Critics have accused the SEC of dropping the ball but perhaps this helps explain why the SEC didn’t see the financial collapse coming. Or did nothing to stop Lehman Bros.’ questionable accounting tactics or sat idly by while Bernie Madoff employed his dubious “investing” strategy.”
The recent investigation found 31 serious offenders over the past two-and-a-half years, 17 of whom were senior SEC officials with salaries ranging from $100,000 to $222,000 per year.
