People of New York are facing several delays around the city as newest storm dumped 21 inches of snow on the city.  That snowfall came close to the recorded 26 inches of snow that fell in February of 2006.

With damaging winds and reported white outs, several people were without electricity and left stranded as many schools were cancelled and several flights were delayed.  Meteorologists have commented that the worse of the storm has left, however they were simply amazed by the size of the system that affected much of the north east.

The great snowfall brought much of the city to a crawl, however most people seemed to be in good spirits as such a storm is usually not common in the city.  Forecasts do call for additional snow showers in the next few days, however for others that did not enjoy the delays; they hope the worse is over.

The size of the storm made driving conditions hazardous with several icy roads and fallen trees.  How large was this storm? It has been recorded as the 12th largest storm in New York City’s history.  The City’s emergency and snow removal services are being greatly appreciated for their patience and effort to keep the roads of New York City in safe driving condition.

People of New York are being asked to remain patient as the cleanup efforts continue, ad be respectful of the process.  If anything, the latest storm is giving many people a reason to count down to spring.
