Despite the knowledge that touching art is not permitted, several patrons were guilty of touching the nude models in Marina Abramovic’s exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art.

The models have talked about the occasional groping by a patron while others have complained about being pushed or poked by the patrons.

The museum is very strict about the patrons not touching or stroking the nude models and if found guilty of this offense they are immediately escorted out of the exhibition.

Until now, an unspecified number of patrons have been removed from the exhibition but as of now none have been arrested nor has there been any calls to the police regarding harassment.

To cope with this expected problem as well as other problems, the 38 models had been put through a special training camp at an unspecified place. For almost a week they undertook harsh tasks like bathing in icy cold water, counting grains of rice and walking in slow motion to name a few.

Marina has had a lot of experience as an artist pushing the boundaries of physical endurance since the late 60′s and has done several dare devil acts like stabbing herself in her left hand repeatedly or falling unconscious in front of an audience after taking some medication. The present show is a collection of her past works in several different genres over the past 40 years and includes a lot of stuff from different genres like photos to videos to performance art.

The artists have stated that they would like to continue to perform in the exhibit even after seeing the antics of the patrons.
