There has been much talk of the myth or some would call it an urban legend about alligators living in New York’s City’s sewers ,but yesterday it became a reality when a baby crocodile wondered out of a storm drain in Astoria ,Queens and became an instant sensation and a celebrity on the block.
Everyone laughs and makes jokes about that urban myth, but there it was right before every ones eyes, a one and a half foot Crocodile. The local Police who picked up the would be monster seemed puzzled. While some folks on Newton Avenue in Astoria were disappointed it wasn’t larger.
Police speculate where the way-word orphan Croc came from while some New Yorkers are wondering about the where abouts of its mother? According to the New York Post Police spokesman James Duffy said, “It could have been dumped from a car or it could have come out of a sewer.” City Animal Care and Control is currently finding the creature a home at a reptile sanctuary.
