Quogue happens to be one of the oldest communities in Long Island and it was founded in 1640 by 40 Puritan Freeholders. Initially the land held a lot of value for its broad rolling meadows and “bonack,” a ground nut that became a staple for the early settlers. In addition to this, the residents also gained in the fact that dead whales were frequently found cast up on the beach, the oil and by products of which could be used to their advantage.
Soon enough the beauty of the Quogue beach began to attract tourists during the summer season and this led to the construction of hotels, boarding houses, and homes set near the beautiful meadows. Today, it is one of the most picturesque places in New York and it is hard to imagine that such beauty exists and shares boundaries with the metropolitan chaos of the Big Apple. Thanks to the streets lined with trees and well-manicured lawns, the houses in Quogue have become hot property.
If you have $8,500,000, a beautiful house in Quogue can be yours. Considering what you get in return, it’s not a bad investment at all. The property covers over 1 acre and sits on beautifully landscaped ground. The property has a boat slip that allows for the dockage of multiple boats. Inside the house, you’ll find an open living room and a dining area with a stone fireplace. The gourmet kitchen is huge and the office and billiard room overlook the water.
The view from the master bedroom is breathtaking and there is also a large sitting area where you can sit and enjoy a cup of coffee or tea. Among the other features of the house are a heated pool with brick patios, a pool house with a bedroom and bath, a wine cellar, and a gym over the garage. As we said, the price is nominal once you see what comes with this gorgeous house.
