There is no dearth of restaurants in New York, and we all know that. And, there is no dearth of good restaurants either. At each corner you turn, you are bound to bump into great places that serve delectable dishes to tempt your palette. One such restaurant is Roy’s New York on Washington Street. This restaurant has place of pride amongst New York’s amazing array of restaurants. In business since 1998, it has been serving the Hawaiian Fusion Cuisine under the supervision of a chef who is as creative as he is famous: Roy Yamaguchi.
It is obvious, as you enter, that Roy values more than just serving good food. He cares equally for décor, style and service. His main aim isn’t to impress you with good food alone. He wants to recreate the experience of being in Hawaii. That’s why the place has all the colors that will transport your imagination straight into this exotic locale, not to mention the spacious seating and the large, airy windows that allow in ample sunlight. Besides, your food is prepared in an open kitchen, exhibition-style, and the service is more than just extremely efficient. It is one of those rare places where the staff members welcome you as if you were their personal guest. They are never short of a smile or a happy greeting.
The food will probably leave you marveling at all the tasteful possibilities you could never have imagined. The chefs at Roy’s present more than just faithful recreations of local Hawaiian cuisine. They blend the seafood of the region with the sauces, spices, and herbs of both Europe and Asia. The results have left even true blue Hawaiians asking for more.
The signature dishes of this place include dry-aged steaks, Macademia Mahimahi and their famous chocolate soufflé, which many consider the most delectable offering in chocolate they have ever tasted. The seafood on offer includes Ono, Onaga, Opakapaka, fresh shellfish and Sushi. A variety of hand-cut meats are also part of the menu. And as if this was not enough, Roy’s boasts of an award-winning wine list, which will make sure that your satisfaction quotient stays high up!
Every evening their offering includes a selection from Roy’s classics – some of their best loved recipes over the years. What’s more, there are no normal Fridays at this restaurant, there are ‘Aloha Fridays’. This means that if you come here on a Friday, for either lunch or dinner, wearing a Hawaiian shirt, you get a 10% discount.
So, if you’re in New York, make sure you don’t miss this special experience! Here’s the address:
