It’s almost Valentine’s Day – the festival that’s celebrated by love struck couples all over the work. New York is no different. If you are looking forward to celebrating Valentine’s Day and making it really special for your date, take a pick from one of these restaurants. They are known for their romantic ambience and you are sure to have a memorable evening here.

One If by Land, Two If by Sea

17 Barrow St. b/w 7th Ave. S. & W. 4th St., New York, NY, 212-228-0822

One if by Land, Two if By Sea is probably the most romantic restaurant in NYC. Set in a former 18th century carriage house, this restaurant has working fireplaces and live piano music every night. Exposed brick, fresh roses, and candle light make this a great place for a romantic evening. The menu is international and their delicacies include goat cheese gnocchi and seafood gumbo.

The River Cafe

1 Water Street, Brooklyn, New York, NY, 718-522-5200.

This restaurant is made special by the view it offers you – the Manhattan skyline, New York Harbor, and Brooklyn Bridge look awesome and they often becomes the topic of conversation between people who come here. The food is delicious and the ambience just perfect. The menu is true blue American and the menu features Colorado lamb, soft-shell crab stuffed with lobster meat, seafood ceviche, strawberry shortcake, and Key Lime Pie. Make your evening special by asking for window seating and the “Chef’s Table” dining experience.

Silverleaf Tavern

70 Park Avenue at East 38th Street, New York, NY, 212-973-2550

Silverleaf Tavern is nothing like the tavern of yesteryears. Thank god for that, or it would’ve dampened your romantic inclinations. Silverleaf is elegant and uniquely decorated with an elaborate chandelier, comfy leather booths, and an amethyst bar. Order one of their curiously named drinks to set the mood for the evening, Choose from the Stone Pole, Havana Kiss, and Kama Sutra.

MEGU

62 Thomas St. New York, NY, 212-964-7777

The décor itself inspires romance. Picture this – leather dining booths, bamboo pieces in the whole room, porcelain rice-bowl columns above the dining area, a gigantic temple bell, and ice carvings that are made every day. Beautiful, isn’t? The food is just as great here and only imported Kobe beef from Japan is used here.

Daniel

60 East 65th Street, New York, NY, 212-288-0033

Daniels is one of those restaurants with a four star rating from The New York Times. The ambiance and the cuisine are both romantic and the neo classical dining room coupled with attentive service from the staff is sure to impress your date. The Skybox allows you to dine privately in a room enclosed in glass with an overhead view of the kitchen. Just the touch you needed.
