Who doesn’t like to sink their teeth into a nice, juicy, meaty burger? No true NYC-ite will be able to resist the temptation of a big, fat burger with some French fries on the side and a cool glass of their favorite thirst quencher. Yummy! To make life easier for you, we’ve listed some of the best places in Manhattan to get burgers that are out of this world. So, let’s take a trip in the quest for some lip-smacking, scrumptious, and drool-icious burgers.
P.J. Clarke’s
There are no arguments about this – P.J. Clarke’s has to be one of the most popular burger joint in the whole city. While you can find a P.J. Clarke’s at various locations in different neighborhoods, the original one in the Upper East Side corner is the most sought after. The service is fast and quick and their burgers are unbelievable. The one with sautéed mushrooms is a particular favorite and if you are with a group of friends, go in for the baker’s dozen mini burgers. You’ll probably need more than a dozen though because they are going to disappear quite fast!
Shake Shack
Who doesn’t know the single or double Shackburger that’s stuffed with tons of American cheese, tomato, lettuce, and the very special shack sauce. The line of people clamoring for their favorite burgers during lunch and dinner can stretch for as long as 2 hours, so, it’s best to plan in advance and be prepared for the wait. You could also act a little wise and avoid the lunch and dinner rush hours and go in for brunch or a late night snack.
Corner Bistro
Corner Bistro doesn’t boast of the greatest ambience or the finest service and yet, it pulls crowds from all over Manhattan for one and only one reason – their famous Bistro Burgers with bacon, tomato, lettuce, and cheese. If you can stand the noise levels (which can be unbearably high) head over here for your favorite snack along with a few mugs of McSorley’s.
Zaitzeff
In spite of its price Zaitzeff has its own fan following. This is one of those few burger joints that don’t seem to be bursting at the seams with customers. It’s a good place for a quiet meal with your friends or a date. Try the sirloin burger or the Kobe beef burger. It might pinch you to shell out a hefty amount for a burger, but the taste is well worth the money spent.
Ted’s Montana Grill
The décor at Ted’s Montana is inspired by the old West. And, in keeping with their outrageously popular bison burgers, there is a massive bison mounted on the wall. It can be said safely and no one will challenge you – there’s no better place for bison burgers than Ted’s. Go for the “Kitchen Sink” or the “George’s Cadillac” for a taste that you won’t forget.
