On the streets of New York, you will struggle to find a piece of clothing as commonly worn as a pair of denims. Everyone has them. So it must be easy to fish out the perfect pair on one of your shopping trips, right? Wrong, unfortunately. For a garment so popular, it can be frustratingly difficult to find something that suits your body shape and size, your need and your sense of style. It may involve countless hours and trips to the changing room, and you may still feel like you are settling for a compromise. It doesn’t help that there are so many brands, cuts and styles on offer, as to confuse even the most hardcore shoppers.
If you are already beginning to consider it a daunting prospect, the list below should make your task a lot easier, by pointing out the best places to begin your search for that elusive, perfect pair of denims.

The labels available include Joe’s, J Brand, True Religion, 7 For All Mankind and several others. None of these are cheap brands, however, and you should expect to pay upwards of $170 for a pair.
