Sony VAIO X is the new status symbol and it comes with a price that can only be shelled out by the financially sound. For the rest of us, we will have to be content with the ordinary notebook while our more affluent minority can afford to flaunt the lightest notebook in the world. Not only is it half as light as the other notebooks in the market and make them all look like they need a strict Atkins diet, Sony VAIO X is also fitted with a battery that has a longer life than most other models.
There are several other interesting features about this laptop but one that has caught the eyes is how unbelievably light and thin it is. While holding it in your hands, you get the distinct impression that if you don’t hold on tight enough, it could float up to the stratosphere. It is only half an inch thick, and weighs 1.5 pounds and you could pick it up with your thumb and two fingers. People could easily mistake this notebook for a magazine or folder in your hands.
Having said that we also have to state that just because Sony VAIO X feels as light as a feather in your hand doesn’t mean that it is as flimsy as one. Carbon fiber has been used to lend rigidity and stiffness to the notebook, even as it maintains its lightness. Don’t be taken in by the fragile beauty of this laptop. It is really quite a tough cookie.
VAIO X’s 11.1-inch screen has a resolution that is higher-than-usual resolution, there is amazing crispness, and clarity in the wide viewing angles of the display. You could turn the notebook to nearly 90 degrees on either side, and you still wouldn’t image reversal or outrageous reflections.
Like we mentioned before, the price of Sony VAIO X puts it out of the reach of the common man and this model is only affordable by someone who has the means, as well as the mood to splurge. If you want to travel light – really, really light, and have a gadget that also adds to your style quotient, Sony VAIO X will be your new best friend.
